Nose Wires for Kids – A Survey

This is a news letter that was sent out by email on August 18th, preserved here for posterity. The poll is closed.

In March, in the early days of our mask-making business, a nose wire poked through the fabric of a mask, and the customer asked for a replacement or refund.

At that time, we put nose wires in all masks. The wire helps the mask fit better, and prevents fogging of one’s glasses.

Nothing went wrong, but the sight of a bare wire poking out the top of the mask, millimetres away from where a person’s eye would be, gave us a horrible scare. We vowed that it would never happen again. To make sure, we changed the design of the nose wires, covering the tips so they can’t poke through.

We took them out of our children’s masks completely.

Since March, we’ve changed our mask template and increased the quality of our finished product by hiring professional sewists. We’ve delivered hundreds of masks, and have received a small number of returns for quality defects. None of the quality defects have been about nose wires - they are most often about elastic sizing.

After several recent requests, we are considering re-adding nose wires to the child mask design, which is for children from 3-8 years old. As one of our valued customers, we would appreciate your input.
