Will My Glasses Fog Up?All of us wear glasses so finding a solution to fogging has been super important to us.
What About People Who Are Hard of Hearing?
We have a number of customers who wear hearing aids, and have had struggles with the ear elastics getting caught, and so we have been working to find solutions.
The feedback we have received on surgical ties that go behind the head is that they do cause less interference with hearing aids, but they bring up a different problem for many people, which is that the ties get caught on glasses. It seems that there's no way to win, with all the stuff that we have on our heads and faces these days.
The solution we have received the most positive feedback on is using ear savers. It's easy to hook the elastic earpieces onto the ear saver buttons to create a secure, comfortable fit. Elastics rest of on buttons rather than on ears, and don't wrap around hearing aids.
The reason that we don't make masks with windows is because there are other wonderful people in town who are doing a great job: We strongly recommend Ellen Young (https://masks.ellenyoung.ca/collections/frontpage/products/wired-windowed-masks). Given that the market for these masks is relatively small, we have chosen not to compete. We have purchased masks from Ellen and keep them at the office to wear when needed.

Why should I wear a mask?

What is the research saying about masks?
"When a dummy was fitted with a three-ply cotton mask over a medical procedure mask — the second mask formed a tight seal around the face, reducing droplets from a simulated cough by 96.4 per cent for both source and receiver. However, the study also found that dummies wearing only one medical procedure mask — which was knotted and tucked from the sides to eliminate gaps — also reduced droplet exposure significantly – by 95.9 per cent."

“The consumer mask Marketplace tested with an inner layer of melt-blown, non-woven polypropylene fabric and outer layers of cotton had filtration efficiency rates as high as an N95. Scott said the combination of multiple materials contributed to the strong result.”

Are the ear elastics adjustable?
The elastics fit most faces comfortably, but if you experience discomfort, an ear saver can help. We also offer ear elastic adjusters to help you get the perfect fit
What is an ear saver?
Ear savers are strips of fabric with buttons on which to fasten your earpieces. They are designed to reduce pressure and pain on the ears when wearing a mask for long periods of time, and are sold as separate items.
Why do the masks have different prices?
All masks are made to the same quality standards; price differences reflect price differences in various fabric prints and colours.
